Money Bitches, we’re about to get real with you. Most people have a great idea or vision for their life but never end up living it. They get stuck in their own way, letting their fears and doubts overpower their dreams.

If this sounds like you, don’t worry, you can still get out of your own way and live your vision. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

Ditch the excuses.

If you want to achieve your vision, you need to ditch the excuses. Why? Because excuses are just a way of hiding from your fears and doubts. They’re a way of avoiding your responsibilities and putting off your dreams.

If you want to achieve your vision, you need to face your fears and doubts head-on. You need to take responsibility for your life and start working towards your dreams.

What do these excuses and pitfalls look like? Below are a few common excuses we use to hold ourselves back from what we really want:

“What if I fail?”

The reason most people make excuses is because of fear. They’re afraid of the risks involved in pursuing their dreams. They’re afraid of what might happen if they don’t achieve their vision. They’re afraid of what others might think of them or how they’ll be judged.

But remember, failure is a part of life. It’s how we learn and grow. So don’t be afraid to fail. Failure is only a problem if you let it be.

“I don’t deserve to be here.” (The Dreaded Imposter Syndrome)

Another reason we make excuses is because we lack confidence. We don’t think that we’re capable of achieving our goals. We don’t think that we’re good enough or smart enough to achieve our dreams.

Imposter syndrome is often a huge problem for women. For whatever reason, we feel as though we don’t deserve a seat at the table. But guess what sister – if you want it, you DESERVE it.

Positive affirmations can help us overcome this self-defeating mindset. When imposter syndrome rears its ugly head, just repeat to yourself, “I deserve to be here.” It may seem silly, but short positive affirmations, repeated throughout the day, can help expel the negative thoughts and change your mindset drastically over time.

“I don’t have the time to pursue this.”

This is a common excuse that people use to avoid taking action on their dreams. But the truth is, we all have the same amount of time – 24 hours in a day. It’s up to us how we use that time.

If you want to achieve your vision, you need to make time for it. You need to carve out a space for it in your day-to-day life. You need to make it a priority.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to achieving your dreams. You have to put in the work. You need to make a commitment to achieving your vision by effectively managing your time to ensure it stays a priority.

A great way to ensure that you stay committed to your vision is through time blocking. Time blocking will allow you to carve out a specific amount of time each day to work on your goals.

Remember: we don’t rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our systems. If you don’t prioritize your vision by allocating time to achieving it, it will never get done – no matter how noble the goal is.

Establish healthy and productive habits.

If you want to achieve your vision, you need to establish healthy and productive habits. This includes things like eating a healthy diet, getting enough exercise, and getting enough sleep. All of these things are essential for optimal productivity and creativity.

When it comes to developing healthy habits, consistency is key. You need to make a commitment to doing them every day – or as close to every day as possible. This may take some time and effort in the beginning, but over time, the healthy habits will become second nature.

An effective way to incorporate productive habits into your everyday life is through Habit Stacking. In James Clear’s book, Atomic Habits, he explains that the concept of Habit Stacking is incorporating something you don’t really want to do (but you know is good for you) with something that you actually DO want to do. For example, if you don’t want to work out – but you do want to watch Netflix – get on your exercise bike or treadmill will streaming your favorite show.

It’s also important to set realistic goals for yourself. Don’t try to overhaul your entire lifestyle overnight. Start small and work your way up. This will make it easier for you to stick with the new habits and eventually see results.

Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you.

If you want to achieve your vision, you need to surround yourself with people who support and encourage you. These people can be a great source of motivation and inspiration. They can help keep you accountable and on track.

It’s important to choose wisely when it comes to the people you surround yourself with. Not everyone will be supportive or encouraging – in fact, some people may even try to hold you back. Don’t let them get to you. Stay focused on your goals and the people who are helping you achieve them.

The best way to find like-minded individuals is through networking events and online communities. There are also many great books out there on the topic of goal setting and achieving your vision, like the book Atomic Habits we mentioned before. Learn as much as you can and surround yourself with positivity to stay motivated. The negative might try to work it’s way in, but you have the power to choose how it affects you.
